Twitch keeps a past broadcast for 7 days on a standard account, 14 days for Affiliates, and 60 days for Partners, Prime and Turbo users. After that the VOD is deleted and cannot be recovered by Twitch support. Highlights and uploads are stored indefinitely, within a 100-hour limit.

It has to be switched on
Past broadcasts are only saved if Store Past Broadcasts is on in your stream settings, on the web dashboard. The mobile app cannot enable it.
Deleted means deleted
Twitch support cannot recover a broadcast past its window, nor one that was never saved. There is no recovery path.
Highlights do not expire
Highlights and uploads are stored indefinitely, within a shared 100-hour limit. Uploads are limited to Affiliates and Partners.
2K and vertical versions expire sooner
The 2K or vertical version of a VOD expires after 7 days. The 1080p or horizontal version stays for the rest of the window.
One VOD at a time
Twitch offers no bulk download. Each past broadcast is downloaded one by one from the Video Producer, or exported to a linked YouTube account.

Can I recover a deleted Twitch VOD?
No. Once past the retention window, the broadcast is deleted and Twitch support cannot restore it.
Why are my VODs not being saved at all?
Store Past Broadcasts must be enabled in the Creator Dashboard stream settings, on the web. It is not available in the mobile app.
Do Highlights expire?
No. Highlights and uploads are stored indefinitely, within a combined 100-hour limit.
Can Twitch export my VODs to YouTube?
Yes, one at a time, from the Video Producer, once your YouTube account is connected. It is manual, and it does not save the original file.
