How many channels run 24/7 right now.

One category, read once an hour, every page of it.

Twitch has a category for channels that never stop: Always On. It is where a channel is supposed to sit when it airs a loop rather than a live performance. VOD247 reads that category in full, once an hour, and counts what is there: 513 channels at the last sample, 518 at the busiest hour of the last seven days.

The count moves with the clock, not with the news. A 24/7 channel does not go live at 9pm, it is already on. What moves is the long tail: small loops that run for a few days, come back, or stop. Over seven days, 496 channels on average.

Channels that loop their VODs under a game category instead of Always On are not in this count, so the real number is higher.

How many people watch them.

Combined audience, and the median that keeps it honest.

28,578 viewers were watching Always On channels at the last sample, 18,069 on average over seven days, with a peak of 36,004.

The median is the number that matters: 2 viewers per channel. A handful of large channels carry most of the audience, while the long tail sits at nought to two.

A 24/7 channel is not an audience machine. It is an hours machine. It fills the offline hours, keeps the name in the sidebar, and turns an archive into something watchable at 4am.

How this is measured.

One source, one schedule, two counts.

Twitch, every hour

The figures come from Twitch's public data, read once an hour.

Two counts

The channels live in the Always On category, and the French-language streams that announce a rerun.

Nothing is filled in

A reading that fails leaves a gap in the series rather than an estimate.

Dated, free to cite

Every figure on this page carries the date of the reading it comes from.

What this does NOT measure

  • — Channels that loop their VODs under a game category instead of Always On.
  • — Whether a stream really is a rerun: Twitch does not publish that, so the French figure relies on what channels announce.
  • — Watch time. These are readings taken once an hour, not a running total.
  • — Anything about VOD247 customers. This dataset is about Twitch, and contains no customer data.

For scale.

One 24/7 channel, measured by a third party.

The aggregate above hides what a single successful channel looks like. SullyGnome, which tracks Twitch publicly, recorded 168 hours of broadcast over seven days on zerator_247, exactly 7 × 24, for an average of 817 viewers and a peak of 4,241.

Over thirty days the same source shows 662 hours, not 720: even a reference channel does not run the whole window. Checked on 2026-09-13, and re-openable by anyone.

Questions.

How many Twitch channels run 24/7?

513 were live in the Always On category at the last hourly sample, 496 on average over the last seven days. Channels that loop their VODs under a game category are not counted, so the real number is higher.

How many people watch 24/7 channels on Twitch?

28,578 at the last sample, 18,069 on average over seven days, peaking at 36,004. The median channel draws 2 viewers, so the audience is concentrated in a few large channels.

Where does this data come from?

From Twitch's public data, read every hour by VOD247. 889 readings since 15 September 2026, each one dated on this page.

Can I cite these numbers?

Yes. Cite VOD247 and the date of the reading, both shown on this page. The address never changes; the numbers update every hour.

Does Twitch allow 24/7 channels?

Yes, on a channel you own, with content you own. Twitch caps a single broadcast at 48 hours, so a 24/7 channel reconnects between airings rather than streaming forever.
