How the archive works.
One sync, one download per VOD, one file stored as Twitch had it.

Sync
The catalogue is read from the Twitch API every 30 minutes, and fully once a day. A VOD Twitch no longer lists is marked expired, never deleted from the archive.

Fetch
Each new VOD is downloaded at maximum quality, one job per VOD, retried on failure. The file is probed and stored as is: no re-encoding, no quality loss.

List
Title, date, duration, and the games played with their chapters. The result is a catalogue you can search, filter by year and game, and replay.
YouTube mirror, or real archive.
Some 24/7 services fetch your VODs from YouTube. That means you have to put them there first.
Exporting to YouTube is a fine way to publish. It is a poor way to archive: YouTube re-encodes the video, the original file is gone, and each export is a manual step from the Video Producer.
A service that downloads from your YouTube channel makes you the archivist. Miss one export, and that stream is not in the 24/7 rotation. VOD247 reads your Twitch archive directly, so there is nothing to mirror.

Full-text search
Titles searched in French and in plain text, with typo tolerance on the stem.
Facets
Filter by year and by game. A VOD counts once per game played, from Twitch chapters.
Format on file
Codec, resolution, frame rate and audio are recorded per VOD. The dashboard shows what your archive is made of.
Muted segments
Segments Twitch muted are stored as Twitch left them. Nothing is un-muted, nothing is hidden.
Blocked VODs
Any VOD you block stays in the archive and out of the rotation and the public site.

Questions.
Can you recover VODs that already expired?
No. Nobody can: once Twitch has deleted a past broadcast it is gone. The archive starts on the day you connect the channel and grows from there.
What quality is saved?
The highest Twitch serves, which is the quality you streamed at. The file is stored without re-encoding.
Can I upload VODs I saved myself?
Not yet through the dashboard. Get in touch and we import them by hand into your archive.
Is this the official Twitch download?
No. Twitch has no download API. VOD247 uses the same web endpoints the Twitch player uses, which is what every third-party tool does. Automatic fetching is never promised in a service-level agreement for that reason.
